The idea behind the new teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockinjay Part 1 is pretty simple – Want to piss Katniss Everdeen off and force her to fight? Show her how the big, bad Capitol basically leveled her entire hometown. In “Return to District 12,” Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) grumbles about how the only way to save the rebellion and get Katniss to fulfill her destiny is to “make it personal for her,” and letting her visit the rubble that used to be her town square and possibly the Arby’s that she loved as a kid is definitely a great way to do that.
Also, you’ll notice that The Hunger Games’ marketing team is using the hashtag #MockingjayTickets to remind people to buy tickets in advance. It’s probably just because Lionsgate wants a little advance on the $100 million this movie will make at the box office when it opens on Nov. 21. Gotta pay them bills before they get a late fee.
