Live Q & A: Jay Chandrasekhar and Kevin Heffernan of The Babymakers

Jay Chandrasekhar and Kevin Heffernan are best known as part of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe, a group that began at Colgate University from members of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, and re-assembled in New York City. After spending a few years touring clubs and colleges with their live show, in 2000, they shot Super Troopers, which was picked up by Fox Searchlight and released in 2002, whereupon it developed a loyal cult following, but you chicken f*ckers probably already knew that. In 2004, they released Club Dread, a slasher parody set at a tropical resort, and in 2005, Chandrasekhar directed Dukes of Hazzard for Warner Bros, a relationship which allowed them to put out Beerfest. In 2010 they put out Slammin’ Salmon, which Heffernan directed (his first time directing a feature). Throughout that time, they’ve both been busy making appearances in other films (such as Chandrasekhar’s memorable turn as a cab driver in Jackass Two) and in Chandrasekhar’s case, directing episodes of an impressive variety of shows, such as Royal Pains, Community, Happy Endings, Up All Night, Chuck, Blue Mountain State, Knight Rider, and plenty of other stuff. Dude stays busy, is what am saying.

All of these things are 100% true if IMDB and Wikipedia and my memory are to be believed. What am I, a librarian? Anyway, Jay and Kevin are joining us for a live discussion so you can ask them about all this and more yourselves.

They join us to promote their latest project (with Chandrasekhar directing and Heffernan in a supporting role), The Babymakers, starring Paul Schneider and Olivia Munn in a story about sperm bank heist, hit theaters in limited release over the weekend and is scheduled for DVD and Blu-Ray September 18th. DISCUSSION BEGINS 5 PM ET/2 PM PT.
