Flame On: The ‘Fantastic Four’ Reboot Has Its Four Lead Actors

Four actors are closing deals to star in Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot, says THR. We already knew Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle, Fruitvale Station) was attached to play Johnny Storm (The Human Torch) as part of his contract for Josh Trank’s Chronicle.

Kate Mara (House of Cards, Transcendence) will play his sister, Sue Storm (The Invisible Woman). We can already anticipate the racist flame wars, and we believe Vince summed it up best when he said, “If a black guy playing The Human Torch is something that legitimately troubles you, I’m going to wedgie you with your own Klan robes, you tumbling, tumbling dickweed.”

Whiplash star and Rachel Maddow look-alike Miles Teller will play Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) if his schedule allows. For some reason, this milquetoast tall guy is in everything.

Perhaps the biggest surprise — but one I’m totally okay with — is the casting of Ben Grimm (The Thing). That part will likely go to Jamie Bell from Billy Elliot, Snowpiercer, and Nymphomaniac. Yep. The kid doing grands jetés in Billy Elliot may soon be declaring it clobberin’ time. So graceful.

Fantastic Four is set to open June 19th, 2015. No word on whether they’ll change the name to Fantastic Four Babies since everyone’s in their damn twenties.
