Finally, ‘Anchorman’ Received The 8-Bit Video Game Treatment

The folks at CineFix are responsible for spiking my Ovaltine with some happiness today, as they posted an “8-bit” video game version of Anchorman to YouTube last week, and if there’s anything my inner frat boy loves, it’s 8-bit video games (easy to play when hammered) and Anchorman (the babes at Tri Delt love when I quote it). Of course, as with any 8-bit video game tribute, I spent the whole weekend pissed off that this isn’t real and I can’t actually play it for hours on end instead of working.

Also, as astute YouTube commenter “Harrawesome” points out, the title is misleading, because this isn’t actually 8-bit. A mistake on the Internet? My monocle just shattered on the floor of this strip club bathroom.

Alright… This is gonna make me sound like a complete troll… and I’m bot tryin to hate, but… This isn’t actually 8-bit. And I don’t mean the color scheme. I could really care less about how many colors there are. I mean the pixel size. The pixels on the character outlines are large blocks, but they get much smaller to make up the face and other details, creating an overall unclean look. Sorry, I’m probably gonna be hated on, but… I couldn’t hold it in.

Broseph, if you have to start out by saying that you’re not a troll, you’re a total troll. Anyway, enjoy the video. It’s pretty awesome.
