There’s been a lot to cover in the last couple of days. In addition to the new trailer for the Australian crime film Animal Kingdom above (via CHUD), here’s some stuff I missed:

Ice Road Truckers movie in the works.  John Moore, director of Max Payne, wants to do a 3D movie based on the Ice Road Truckers show on the History Channel.  I don’t know, I’ve never watched that show. To me, it’s either the ice breaks and it’s awesome and I hear about it on the news, or the ice doesn’t and I watch a guy driving a truck for a half hour.|Deadline|

David Fincher wants his Girl With Dragon Tattoo lead to be like South African fake rapper.  David Fincher is doing the movie version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and he says he wants his lead actress to look and act like Die Antwoord’s Yo-Landi Vi$$er. She’s the chick with weird hair and nice boobs in this video.  I don’t really get the Die Antwoord thing. They’re basically like Ali G or insert-white-person-doing-tongue-in-cheek-rap-here, aren’t they?  Except South African? That accent creeps me out. |Vulture|

Gollum playing the lead monkey in Planet of the Apes prequel. Andy Serkis, who played Gollum in Lord of the Rings, will play “a monkey named Caesar who leads a huge attack on the humans.” Cast already includes James Franco and John Lithgow.  Poor Chris Kattan, I thought he really had a shot at this one.

Bollywood making a musical comedy about Bin Laden.  Trailer below.

Releasing July 16th, Tere Bin Laden is the story of a young Pakistani reporter whose hopes of moving to the US have been repeatedly dashed and so, when he stumbles across a Bin Laden lookalike, he decides to create a fake Bin Laden video to sell to American news outlets. Hilarity – and dancing! – ensue! [Twitch]

The film also has an official site which has Osama Bin Laden dancing with chickens. I was intrigued by the concept, but to be honest, I expected more from the country that brought us dancing condoms.
