Porn Stars Describe The Worst Reaction They’ve Ever Gotten From Someone Finding Out They Work In Porn

In the latest installment of Woodrocket’s Ask A Porn Star series, our friend Lee Roy Myers and company asked a cross-section of adult performers (Claire Robbins, Vyxen Steel, April O’Neil, Mickey Mod, Rain DeGray, Anikka Albrite, Jade Nile, Allie Haze, Violet Monroe, Mick Blue, and Aubrey Snow) about the worst reaction they’ve ever gotten from people finding out they did porn. I came up with this topic myself, inspired by the time I got thrown out of a cab when I said I edited porn some years back (described here).

The responses this time out really ran the gamut, from “No one’s every been an assh*le about it” (April O’Neil) and “I’ve never gotten any bad reactions” (Jade Nile), to “A guy threw a rack of napkins on my and called me a whore” (Violet Monroe) and the succinct but effective “I was disowned.” (Rain DeGray).

ANIKKA ALBRITE: They thought that maybe I was forced into it? Or that I had a suitcase pimp for a husband? And this is actually family members. So I had to explain to them that it’s not like that.

ALLIE HAZE: Most of the time people don’t think I’m serious. Like I’m not your typical every day porn star. Generally speaking I’m a tomboy too. When I’m home I don’t wear make up. I’m pretty normal? But the strangest reaction has pretty much been that people don’t believe me. And then I have to sit there and spend time convincing them, to the point where I’m like, “No, here’s my naked photo on the internet.”

AUBREY SNOW: It was one of my best friends from middle school, she was disgusted. She was just like “You eat pussy for a living!” Like… okay. I… guess so.

I too once had a guy throw a rack of napkins at my head, but I’m not sure if it was my job or the fact that I had nacho cheese all over my sweatpants. Hey, maybe he was just being helpful. I prefer to see the good in people.
