Rejoice: Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are doing another comedy together

Will Ferrell is probably the best improv guy in the world, and John C. Reilly is not only super funny, but one of the best actors in Hollywood. Stepbrothers basically had no script other than “Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are stepbrothers,” and it was still funny as hell. So yes, please, these guys should do another comedy together.

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly will be reunited on the set of “Devil’s Night” following previous collaborations on “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” (2006) and “Step Brothers” (2008).

Sony Pictures is producing the comedy, whose plot will revolve around the trickery and minor acts of vandalism that generally abound on the night before Halloween.

In this typical American setting, Ferrell and Reilly will play neighbors whose friendship was sealed 15 years earlier one October 30, only to be destroyed on the same date years later. In the film, the two men will bury the hatchet and work together to prevent their neighborhood from being destroyed by a new generation of Devil’s Night tricksters.

The screenplay for “Devil’s Night” is currently being written by Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul (“Yes Man”). [Yahoo]

I hope they keep the script minimal (and R-Rated) and that this “new generation of tricksters” isn’t a bunch of kids. Because if I have to watch Taylor Lautner or some other stunt-cast milk baby try to keep up with Ferrell and Reilly, why I’ll… I’ll… probably pout and whine about it on my website, that’s for sure. It’s not going to be pretty. DO YOUR WORST, SONY!
