Survey Says You’ll Waste At Least Two Years Of Your Life Gaming

According to the game industry, 72% of us play games on a regular basis, and we’re assuming that doesn’t include time you may waste racking up a fortune for Zynga harvesting crops and annoying your friends with Wall posts. But, how long will we actually spend, overall, playing games.

According to a survey, about two years on average. Unless you play World of Warcraft, in which case you should probably make arrangements to avoid your lonely corpse being consumed by your pets.

The survey, conducted by Playr2.com, found that most gamers started at age nine, expected to game until they were 45, after which apparently the controller will be ripped from their hands and thrown away by their significant others, and that once the hours were averaged together, gamers spent 478 hours a year gaming.

No word on how much of that was guys in their thirties downloading old Nintendo games and discovering they were even harder than they remembered. This may sound bad, but look at it this way: on average, we spend a year taking a dump, so there are worse things you could waste your life doing.
