The Developing World Is Big Into WoW, Apparently

Pando Networks, a game delivery company, sat down and crunched some numbers recently, and discovered that pretty much once you hook a country up with a halfway decent Internet connection, and they’ve discovered all the good porn sites, they start playing World of Warcraft.

Keep in mind, Pando is just one company, and these are just percentages from their internal data. That said, globally, gaming online grew 450% under their watch, going up in Latin America by 595%, 1025% in Europe, and somehow nearly 400% in Japan and 200% in South Korea. (Wait…South Koreans are gaming online more? How is that even possible? Do they do it in their sleep now or something?)

Why the growth? So many MMOs have become free-to-play that even the cheapest nerd has decided he can cough up a chunk of his life to do this. So, yeah, Blizzard is ruining us all. Good job, guys.
