Today in Baffling Video Game Marketing: Gym Cross-Promotions

Many of us are gamers here at UPROXX. We love video games. We have since we were kids. Which is why some of us spent all of elementary school as the fat kid, at least until our dads got us “Track and Field.”

Still, exercising and video games tend not to cross over, despite the best efforts of game companies to get us (and by us we include all Americans) off our collective arses and actually start using the muscle decades of TV and over-caffeinated sugary drinks have atrophied.

Which is why we’re baffled at the cross-promotion over in the United Kingdom between “Soul Calibur V,” an incredibly goofy fighting game, and Gymbox, kind of the English version of Bally’s. Soul Calibur fans will find a code in their game that lets them sign up without a fee, and Gymbox will offer the…wait for it…Swordsman’s Workout.

All we have to say is…The Swordsman’s Workout? Is that anything like a Rusty Venture?
