‘Batman: The Telltale Series’ Leads This Week’s Five Games You Need To Play

Every week sees more games on more platforms, more than anybody could hope to play. That’s why we pick out five games, from the biggest AAA games to the indies you might have missed, to single out what to play. And this week especially, we could probably all use some Batman in our lives.

Pick Of The Week

Batman: The Telltale Series Episode 4: Guardian Of Gotham, Tuesday (PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Android, iOS)

If you’re on the road a lot this week, and many of us are, or are going to find yourself stuck on the couch waiting for a football game or an NCIS marathon to end, you should do yourself a favor and get caught up on Telltale’s Batman series, one of their better adventure games so far and which has its penultimate episode dropping this week. It’s one thing to make terrible decisions in a video game, but terrible decisions are so much more fun when you’re Batman! A review will arrive later this week.

This Week On Console

The Amnesia Collection, Tuesday (PS4)

If you miss the good old days of survival horror where the only thing you could do is hide and/or run like hell, you’ll be giving thanks for this game this weekend. The notoriously freaky Amnesia franchise has atmosphere to spare and a Lovecraftian theme that makes it a hoot. If you missed it on PC, now’s the time to pick it up.

The Little Acre, Tuesday (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Looking like an adventure game by way of Don Bluth, The Little Acre is a gorgeous fully animated game where you play Lily, who’s searching for her dad. Who got lost searching for his dad. OK, so it’s probably just slightly silly, but it’s an engaging bit of silly, and a refreshing game to pick up and play if you’re sick of shooting everything that moves.

Update: Looks like this has been moved to December 13th. So a bit of fun to look forward to during the holidays!

We Sing, Tuesday (Xbox One, PS4)

Yes, the Wii game that was basically karaoke on steroids has returned, and this time it’s been done in Unreal 4 for… well, we’re not sure why to tell you the truth. But since it’s now on the PS4, instead of the underpowered toaster with the gimmicky controller that we all loved anyway, it will support up to ten singers! Ten! You can get ten friends into your living room, liquor them up, and then have them sing Abba. You know, this might be the canniest release date of the 2016 calendar year; we suspect We Sing is going to wind up in a lot of living rooms come Wednesday.

This Week On PC

Starcraft II: Nova Covert Ops, Mission Pack 3, Tuesday (PC)

This appears to be literally the only major PC game coming out this week. Hey, at least Blizzard knows you’ll want to spend a lot of time at a computer this week.

Any games we missed? Let us know in the comments!
