Chvrches Send Out A ‘Warning Call’ With Their Latest Track From The ‘Mirror’s Edge Catalyst’ Soundtrack

Chvrches released the well-received Every Open Eye in 2015, but we don’t have to wait for another album to get some new music from the Scottish band. For that, we can thank the upcoming video game Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, which will feature a song from Lauren Mayberry and company on the game’s soundtrack.

The game, which comes out June 7 in North America, features a character called Faith, who is “a daring Runner who uncovers a hidden truth within the walls of the city of Glass.” Chvrches’ song, “Warning Call,” is from the perspective of Faith, the game’s main character. It has a chance to be the best song influenced by a video game since “Pac-Man Fever.”

“We were honored to be asked to contribute to the soundtrack for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst,” said Chvrches member Iain Cook in a press release. “The sound of Chvrches’ music resonates with the minimalist sci-fi dystopia of the Mirror’s Edge world, and we feel that the song complements the drama, emotion and empowering themes of Faith’s story.”

Whether or not you have any interest in the video game, you can still listen to “Warning Call,” and, if you are a Chvrches fan, you absolutely should.
