EA Fixes FIFA 2012 After Nearly Six Months of Hacking

Back in October, we started covering the Microsoft/FIFA hacking scandal. It was baffling because Microsoft insisted there was no security breach and that its customers were big stupids who didn’t understand Internet security, even customers who had complex passwords and other security measures. Then we found out that the hack was due to shoddy website security, namely a refusal to use Captcha after one or two failed login attempts.

Now, they’ve finally fixed it. Oh, not their website. FIFA 2012. Now you have to answer a security question!

We’re sure this fills all the people who got ripped off and then stuck in customer service hell with joy.
