‘Red Dead Redemption 2’: Check Out The First Trailer And Some Memes

“Listen to me. When the time comes, you gotta run and don’t look back.” The first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 has finally arrived. Rockstar Games has been hinting at the sequel for awhile, releasing two promo photos that were immediately turned into memes (more on that in a moment). Then the company confirmed Red Dead Redemption 2, and we set out to figure out as much about it as we could. It’s releasing in the fall of 2017, and it’s going to have a multiplayer experience. With its multiple protagonists and the involvement of the Grand Theft Auto V team, we can imagine the kind of character-hopping Wild West shenanigans we might get up to online.

We also know it’s a prequel to the original Red Dead, and it appears John Marston is back with his friends Dutch and Bill. Some leaked maps to the game suggested it would be set around the Gulf Coast and Louisiana instead of Texas and Mexico. Does that mean fewer horse adventures? We hope not.

And, of course, there’s no sign of when (or if) this is coming to PC. We’re still waiting for the first game to come to PC (kicks a can down the road), so that’s no surprise.

Anyway, people have been having fun with the promo photos this week, oftentimes referencing ping pong since some people thought it was a teaser for a ping pong game at first. The promo art was also turned into pop culture references, Daft Punk album art, and even a confused John Travolta. Internet gotta internet.
