The Witcher III arrives May 19. We’ll see lots of trailers until it comes out, and this one emphasizes Geralt… well, honestly, Geralt comes off kinda like a serial killer in this trailer, as he essentially beheads everyone he sees, probably right before he has sex with their newly minted widows on a stuffed unicorn.
It’s essentially showing off the sword combat in the game, although you will see Geralt deploy a few spells. The end in particular is interesting, as it gives us a look at Ciri, the female playable character. Apparently she has a taste for flash-steps and… well… beheading her targets. Being that she’s an elf, that might just be self-defense. If you’re familiar with the books, racism is a pretty common issue, to the point where it’s not unreasonable for the elves to take a “kill or be killed” stance. She and Geralt should get along great!
