Hell yeah, I knew that it was going to be a good day. First off, I put on my roommates jeans and find $4.23 in her left front pocket, then there was a three-car accident outside of my apartment window and now I get to write about Nicolas Cage. Oh, what pagan god have I appeased?!
From nymag.com, Columbia Pictures is being pressured to turn out a Ghost Rider sequel asap (obviously someone lost a bet). The company has been sitting on the rights for quite some time and, scheduled to expire on November 14, if the studio hasn’t begun production by then, the rights will automatically default back to Marvel (now owned by Disney). Thing is, Nicolas “My Tomb Is A Pyramid” Cage’s schedule is a little stuffed and he may not be available for the shoot.
Insiders tell us that Columbia is asking Marvel for an extension. (Asking, pleading, it’s a fine line.) But time is running out. Cage has spoken about his desire to make a second Ghost Rider; the issue is whether his schedule will be free before the deadline. Disney is also hoping to get him for a third National Treasure with Jerry Bruckheimer, which could be shooting as early as this fall and would presumably earn the star a hefty paycheck.
Well, I guess you can’t win ‘em all. What started out a hopeful post has now spiraled out of control and landed us talking about National Treasure 3. At least it’s calming to know that despite any future projects Nic Cage may pursue, there will always be legions of unruly internet users to mock his face, regardless. Literally, mock his face.
