Spanish researchers have developed a new process for making artificial human skin using biomaterial, specifically human fibrin from donor plasma, which was then sewn onto the backs of some horribly creepy “nude mice.” There was no sign of rejection and it’s hoped that the technique can be used on humans…and not on these weird piles of flesh that are apparently mice.
I know I’m probably focusing on the wrong thing here – I mean this is great hope for burn victims and accident cases – and if this can perfected in humans, it might mean the end of so much suffering….but is that suffering worth looking at all that disturbingly bare mice rumps? I’m not so sure.
