New Maps Of The Universe Revealed, Still No Zagat’s

Two new maps of the universe were released yesterday, much to the interest and confusion of the general public.

The first is from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, and is a straight up “pictures of the sky” kind of map. The second, from the European Space Agency, is a map of all the microwave signals Euronerds could gather, showing things like “cloaked” galaxies and further evidence of the Big Bang for creationists to plug their ears and scream “LALALA CAN’T HEAR YOU!” over.

The main problem is that these maps are so insanely detailed that you need special tools just to look at them. We’re talking images made from images that are a million pixels or so wide. Yeah. The data is publicly available, of course, so you can go have fun with it, just realize it’s going to take a while to Photoshop some boobs into the stars .
