Winona Ryder Does Not Use Internet, Is Not A Member of Al Qaeda (Video)

Oh Winona Ryder, there once was a time that I would have blindly and unapologetically followed you into the fiery depths of Mordor. I recall that allegiance as if it was 1995 yesterday. Well, let it be known, that was then and now things have drastically changed.

Last month, Ryder explained to Highlights Elle magazine that she had never used the internet before. It’s cool, I never read the article until just now either.

“I don’t use the Internet […] but apparently you can find out everything on it. I have my e-mail on my BlackBerry, and that’s about it. I’ve never read a blog, ever.” [Gawker]

Okay, well that was adorable. I suppose this is the point in the program where I point out that accessing your e-mail pretty much guarantees that you’re logged onto the internet. Anyway, Ryder’s lack of interweb-understandings once again became the topic of conversation, Monday night, when she appeared as a guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Oh don’t you worry, Fallon most certainly took the opportunity to put on his faux 6th grader giggle as Winona explained:

“[T]he Googling was very terrifying to me,” Ryder said, “because I have this fear that I’m going to be trying to find out what movie is playing at what theater, and then I’m suddenly going to be a member Al Qaeda. […] We’re a button away from joining Al Qaeda. […] You have to be careful.” [Huffington Post]

Yeah, um, well unfortunately that’s not really the way that the internet works there, little Winona. I mean, sure you could find yourself pregnant after surfing a blog for too long, but you’ll never wake up as a member of Al Qaeda -pretty sure terrorist organizations require you to send in Nabisco proofs of purchase, first.

Video after the jump, though, I will warn you, this might actually kill any and all romantic interests you’ve ever had in Winona Ryder.
