Fan films are generally more entertaining for their devotion to the subject than their technical artistry. Sure, occasionally you get an absolutely killer one, but most of the time they’re more charming in their crudeness than anything else.
Well, not this time. Rob Pratt has turned out a short but very fun little fan film that actually pays tribute to the older Superman cartoons and serials without being either a cheesefest or looking like crap. Partially this is because of the hand-drawn animation, and partially it’s just that the obvious love of Superman shines through. Check out the brief, but fun, clip on the next page.
