Commercial and music video director Gary Shore doesn’t have anything to do with the upcoming Darren Aronofsky-helmed Wolverine sequel, but that certainly didn’t stop him from creating Wolverine Vs The Hand, a 2-minute vignette of what could be in store for X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2.
In the piece, Shore depicts a battle between Wolverine and the Hand, an organization of evil mythical ninjas who have been stirring up trouble across the Marvel Comics universe since 1981. The video is strewn together through storyboard-esque still frames, animated to a piano track that would make any film geek proud. Wolverine even gets a little help in the cutting-these-people-in-half department from a mysterious lady assassin, though for the life of me I can’t figure out who she’s supposed to be -Lady Deathstrike? Itsu? Mariko? Yuriko? Mario? Luigi?
I highly recommend watching the video after the jump -if for nothing else, at least you’ll be able to appreciate the fact that someone raised the caliber of what a fan film can be.
