New Mary Todd Lincoln Cast In “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”

My only regret for what I am about to do is that I forgot to do it yesterday on Presidents’ Day.

Awhile back it was announced everywhere (including here) that Mary Todd Lincoln would be played by Australian actress Robin McLeavy in Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov’s adaptation of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”, which is a real book that exists (awesome book trailer here).  It turns out Mary Elizabeth Winstead (pictured above) will be playing the crazy Mary instead.  So what other casting news can you give us for “Slaybraham Lincoln”, Slashfilm?

There isn’t yet any confirmation on the possible casting of Scoot McNairy, [Ed.- Scoot?] who is in contention for one role. Also in the film’s cast are Benjamin Walker, as Abraham Lincoln, and Dominic Cooper as vampire Henry Sturgess, who pushes Lincoln into his monster-killing trade. Anthony Mackie was also recently cast as Will, who I suppose is a very fictionalized and race-swapped version of the real-life figure William Seward.

Scoot? All right.  Hopefully, this will be the last time we have to make a cast announcement for this role.  I need to print corrections about the casting of Lincoln’s wife like I need a hole in the head.  ZING!  What say you about that joke, tasteful Lincoln gif?

Indeed.
