One of the big questions of the long and winding road to actually making “The Hobbit” was would Ian Holm be dead before they got production started, and if they did actually get it started, whether they could actually get him to play Bilbo.
Some thought the dream had died when that dork from the British version of “The Office” was cast, but apparently there’s room for decrepit Bilbo yet: Holm has been announced as playing him in a small part.
Personally, we just want to see him hold a lungful of pipe smoke, blow it out, and say “Feels good, man”. But somehow we don’t think PJ would go for it.
