Peter Jackson began shooting both installments of The Hobbit on March 21st. Now Bret McKenzie, the less Jemaine Clement-ish half of Flight of the Conchords is going to reprise his role as Lindir (nicknamed Figwit by some, um, dedicated fans). If you don’t remember him, that’s because he had no lines during the council of Elrond scene in Fellowship of the Ring and only a small speaking role in Return of the King.
In the books Lindir was an Elf of Rivendell who attended one of Bilbo’s poetry readings at Elrond’s house (total sausage fest, too many d*cks on the dance floor for sure). The first of the two Hobbit films is set to release in December of next year and the second in 2013. In the meantime you can watch a video of McKenzie in Return of the King below as well as a second video carrying an important message for Frodo.
