Challenge: Count The Lens Flares In These “Super 8” Clips

“It could use a few more . . .”

Slashfilm posted a TV spot and a new clip from J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg’s Super 8 (previous full length trailer here).  This movie is really breaking ground in the field of digitally-added lens flares.  I attempted to count the number of flares in the two videos after the jump, but after a minute my clicker told me to f*ck off and went to live with nice librarian.  This movie isn’t a documentary about lens flares, however (could’ve fooled me), so here’s the official synopsis:

In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

Spoiler:  the monster is actually a giant lens flare who feeds on human flesh.  OH MY GOD, THEY WERE FORESHADOWING THE WHOLE TIME.
