“Orcs Must Die” A Quiet, Touching, Gentle Game

In this game, you stand up to anti-orc bigotry and negotiate a peace between the orcs and the other peoples of the fantasy land of…
OK, yeah, we’re joking. You slaughter orcs wholesale. And you know what? So far, it looks absolutely hilarious.
At first this looks like your typical beat-em-up with some third-person shooting tossed in, but actually, there’s a lot of strategy involved: orcs one-on-one aren’t much, but they run in huge groups.
Huge groups you can set on fire, impale on spikes, throw into lava, trick into running in front of blade walls, and so on. Here, have a bunch of trailers, one for each trap and each with huge piles of ludicrous gibs.

There’s nothing quite as nostalgic as being able to set groups of enemies on fire. Bonus points for dressing the hero like Ryu.

Awww, it’s like “MadWorld”, only thankfully without the Wii controls!

The “orcs-as-clay-pigeons” thing is a nice touch.

Being able to lift your enemy and then throw him into a pool of acid is a very important trait for a video game.

Finally, we have the classic: the Arrow Wall.
“Orcs Must Die” will be available for download later this summer.
