Welcome to Gamma Squad’s regular Friday comic book cosplay feature, spotlighting the best superhero (and villain) related costuming from the cosplay community. We’re casting the spotlight onto those cosplayers who we think deserve special recognition for coming up with the best costumes, whatever the budget, and the photographers who capture them for posterity.
Gamma Squad is committed to giving a voice to the cosplay community that thrives in groups like TheSuperheroCostumingForum.com. Each week we spotlight our favorite costumes and each month we host a cosplay contest. We’ll be picking a theme for each month and inviting cosplayers, costumers and photographers to submit related pictures of their work to our Flickr group to be considered. We’ll then pick our top choices and post them on Gamma Squad for the adoration of all.
The theme for the upcoming month is:
But in the meantime, let’s continue with this week’s selection.
Just a selection of the dozens of superfamily cosplayers who gathered at this year’s Dragon*Con.
Not much of a costume to this cosplay, but lots of body paint and attitude. Fab!
Impressive make-up and effects on this take on Two-Face. Providing inspiration for this month’s theme, perhaps?

The awesomely talented Tia Rodemeyer puts her mark on a lesser-known costume. Jewel AKA Jessica Jones, who’s slated to hit the small screen sometime soon.
A fantastic duo of cosplayers take on the Hawks in this shot. Great work on the costumes and plenty of attitude.
A fantastic shot of a great Ms. Marvel costume. Definitely a case of impressive costuming and photography meeting.
A different take on Robin here. And we have to love the incredible amount of work that’s gone into the costume and design.
Skulls on fire is tricky to pull off, but we applaud this brave attempt! A crackling shot of the costume too.
Watchmen’s been a popular choice for cosplayers since hitting the big screen and here’s another take on the costume. As good as the movie version? We say yes.
Much credit for this cosplayer attempting what should be an impossible costume. Fantastic work!
