Victorian Robot’s Epic Tale Gets Its Screenwriters

Awhile back we reported J.J. Abrams would be producing “Boilerplate: History’s Mechanical Marvel” for Paramount. The graphic novel follows the eventful life of Victorian era robot Boilerplate, who fought alongside Teddy Roosevelt and Lawrence of Arabia, met Mark Twain, traveled to the South Pole, worked in the movie industry, and went on many other badass adventures which totally happened for real you guys.
Now Paramount and Abrams’ Bad Robot have hired the writers who will adapt the book: JD Payne and Patrick McKay. They also scripted a not-yet-filmed movie adaptation of the Spike TV show “Deadliest Warrior”. They also wrote the not-yet-filmed script for biblical tale Goliath, which may star Dwayne Johnson and Taylor Lautner. Yes. The Rock and the ab wolf in an Old Testament movie. If that’s real, then Boilerplate is totally real. And here’s extensive photographic evidence:
