Kid’s Mom Lets Slip the Identity of Yet Another Dark Knight Rises Villain

Damn kids don’t know how to keep their mouths shut. Well, more specifically, the moms of kids don’t know how to keep their mouths shut.

The mother of child actress Leilah De Meza recently told the Surrey Comet that her daughter was up for the role of “young Talia al Ghul” in The Dark Knight Rises, but ultimately had to turn the part down because it would have required her to cut her hair.

Jeez, clearly Leilah’s mom has a thing or two to learn about being a stage parent. Thinking about your kid’s social welfare is fine and all, but not if it’s going to cost them juicy parts. Read the “Raising a Child Star” handbook — the only time refusing to cut your kid’s hair is acceptable is if they have half-a-dozen junior beauty pageants next week.

Anyways, this seems to confirm that Talia is in the film (she’ll likely be played as an adult by Marion Cotillard). So now we have Bane, Catwoman, Scarecrow, and Talia and Ra’s al Ghul all confirmed, plus there continues to be speculation that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will end up playing some sort of villain.

That’s quite the heap of bad guys for a single film. I’m starting to suspect either a) this movie is getting the Harry Potter/Twilight “split the final movie into two movies” treatment or b) despite what Nolan says, this isn’t actually going to be the last movie set in this particular Bat-universe. Or maybe the movie will just be five hours long — make sure to bring a bottle to pee in!
