We'd Be Remiss If We Didn't Cover The Latest Video Game Inspired Lana Del Rey Parody

“Her early work as Lizzy Grant was a little too bluesy for my tastes, but when Born to Die

came out in ’11, I think she really came into her own, commercially and artistically.” [via]

You may have already seen this mashup of Super Mario Bros. and Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games“, but it was too well-executed to pass over. It was written by Jenny Bede and Rob Broderick, shot/edited by Eugene Magee, scored by Sam Roman with lyrics by Bede, and stars Brendan Murphy as both Mario brothers and Bede as the Princess.

Jenny Bede and friends have managed to capture the spirit of Del Rey’s original video, while twisting it from a tale of a woman whose relationship has become stale to one of a princess who picked the wrong brother. [Kotaku]

We’re pretty sure that was the plot to “Mario Is Missing”. We’re confident in saying that because no one in their right mind would play that game to prove us wrong.
