John Carter may be on track to be the biggest box-office disaster of all time, but that doesn’t mean the movie doesn’t have its fans. Some have even gone so far as to start a Facebook group, called “Take Me Back To Barsoom, I Want John Carter To Have a Sequel.” Yeesh, who came up with that clunky title? The same guys who were in charge of marketing John Carter? Zing!
So far the Facebook group only has around 3,700 members, which I’m guessing won’t be enough to sway Disney into making another 250-million John Carter movie. Then again, who knows what goes through the minds of Disney executives these days — based on their recent spending habits it’s entirely reasonable to assume they may not know how to count.
Anything’s possible — I mean, if the 4000 members of Take Me Back to Barsoom all go watch John Carter 100,000 times each the movie just might break even. You can do it guys! Just make sure all those 100,000 viewings are in 3D.
