When we first heard Marvel was going to send the Punisher into space in a new “alternate continuity” line, we really thought it was a joke. But apparently, it isn’t. They’re really sending the Punisher into space.
Thankfully, this isn’t in the mainstream book; it’s one of Marvel’s side continuities, like “Noir” or “Marvel Zombies”. This one is obviously a space opera, with touches like “the Avengers Federation”, and space opera twists on villains like the Red Skull and Magneto. So it might be appropriately goofy. In fact, looking at that concept art, it’ll be goofy no matter what.
That said, we’re a little concerned about that whole “creative bankruptcy” thing, considering even slasher movies have gotten over the whole “Recycled….IN SPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAACE!” thing. Although, the Punisher hunting down and killing the Leprechaun and Jason in space would be awesome.
