Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke, and Michael Madsen Returning To Sin City

Companion birds and lovably batsh-t actors: a perfect match.

Last week Robert Rodriguez announced Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, a sequel to his and Frank Miller’s Sin City. This week he offered a casting and story update to MTV. Rodriguez said both Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson are “excited about doing another one”. He also confirmed some of the rumors from last year, saying the sequel will have the same three-story structure as the first movie, with the story from A Dame to Kill For mingled with two new storylines by Frank Miller. Gee, I wonder if there will be #Occupy hippies getting killed and women being victimized.

Another original castmember likely to return is UPROXX’s poet laureate Michael Madsen. He told an interviewer:

“I’m doing the sequel to Sin City. That would be Sin City 2. [Ed.- I’m glad he clarified that.] I’m going to Ft. Worth, Texas, and there is supposed to be some sort of a symposium or some Sin City panel where we’re going to talk about the film. I’m looking forward to that, too.” [SmashingInterviews via CBM]

He also explained how he missed out on playing Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction. It was a surprisingly tame interview from a guy who used to rate his own movies on his website as “watchable”, “unwatchable”, “skip it”, “pretty good”, or “can’t rate, never seen it” and who went into great detail about his ideas for an assisted suicide hotel on the Opie and Anthony show:

His ideas are intriguing and we would like to subscribe to his newsletter.
