Fassassin’s Creed: Michael Fassbender’s ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Movie Adaptation Snags Funding

In July, Michael Fassbender signed with Ubisoft to star in and co-produce the first film in the gaming company’s Assassin’s Creed franchise. At the time, Ubisoft didn’t have a deal with any movie studio, but were looking to cast Fassbender to play Altair and set up the movie well enough that it could lead to sequels, unlike Ubisoft’s Prince Of Persia which didn’t make enough money to start a movie franchise.

Now Ubisoft has reached a deal with New Regency to finance the film and distribute it through 20th Century Fox. The rumor is that they are planning to have the script, director, and the rest of the cast ready to start shooting next summer. Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed III will be in stores next Tuesday, and we have this Assassin’s Creed fan film by Corridor Digital to enjoy until this movie (hopefully) gets made.

Now I’ll just have to imagine Michael Fassbender as Conner in the fan film below. I’ll let you guess if I’m thinking of X-Men Fassbender, Prometheus Fassbender, Shame Fassbender, or some kind of captivating hybrid consisting of a naked, horse-hung android seeking magnet-based vengeance. I think you know which option is the right choice.
