‘Transformers 4’ Will Be Casting Some Roles Via Reality Show

Transformers 4 is going to be a heavily Chinese production, with funding from China Movie Channel and Jiaflix Enterprises. Part of this process will apparently be a reality show to cast several roles because, what the hell, why not, it’s not like anybody will notice.

The show, sadly not called “Michael Bay Doesn’t Give A F*** Who’s In This Turkey”, will actually pick out a fair chunk of the cast:

Launched at a press conference in Beijing on Thursday, the Transformers 4 Chinese Actor Talent Search will be a new talent competition television show in which the four winners – two with professional acting experience, two without – will be granted roles in the next entry of the franchise.

Apparently this will be used to drum up excitement for a giant robot movie in China, because reality shows are all the rage there. Transformers 3 was actually a big hit as well: It’s the fourth highest grossing movie in Chinese history.

By all accounts the cast will be heavily Chinese and the movie will be largely shot in China. Considering the series’ absolutely sterling record of racial and cultural sensitivity, there is absolutely no way that this movie will trigger World War III when the Red Chinese Army is sent to drag Michael Bay from his mansion and ship him back for crimes against the Chinese people.

That absolutely will not happen.

We might recommend stocking up on canned goods.
