Allison Williams, co-star of HBO’s Girls and secret sea lion whisperer, is on the short list to star in the Fantastic Four reboot, reports Deadline. They say it’s in the “early talking stage”, and we assume Williams is up for the role of the Invisible Woman (Sue Storm).

If Allison Williams is the new Sue Storm, it would likely be her second film feature role, as she’s currently negotiating to play the title role Rosaline, a retelling of Romeo and Juliet.

The reboot is set to be directed by Chronicle helmer Josh Trank, produced by Matthew Vaughn and penned by Seth Grahame-Smith, so it’s certainly bringing some firepower. […] Fox has some time to make a decision as the movie isn’t due until March 6, 2015. [The Playlist]

Yep, they’re letting the guy behind Chronicle direct this. I haven’t been this excited* about Fantastic Four since a should-be-Pulitzer-prize-winning journalist asked Stan Lee about The Thing’s thing. How excited?

Well, not that excited.

* Keeping it real: I only said I was excited as a flimsy segue into that GIF. I can’t get excited about anything Fox does with a script from the Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter writer because I’m dead inside.
