Lily Collins To Star In 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies', Which Returns From The Dead With A New Director

The film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies now has a new director and lead actor to not get our hopes up about because the director and lead keep being replaced anyway. This zombie movie just won’t die.

THR says Lily Collins is now starring in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Burr Steers has agreed to take over. (Burr Steers is a director of many Zac Efron movies and not, as his name would suggest, a brand of saddle soap.) Meanwhile, Lionsgate is no longer producing it. Instead, a studio named Panorama is producing it to sell at Cannes.

Nothing about this is particularly reassuring considering the previous lead actors negotiating to star include Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Mia Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway, and Emma Stone. It’s also had at least three directors leave: David O. Russell then Mike White and finally Craig Gillespie (Fright Night).

Natalie Portman is still involved as a producer along with Annette Savitch, Richard Kelly, and Sean McKittrick. For more updates on Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, continue reading the internet. Because, when I want news about upcoming films, I browse.
