Arnold Schwarzenegger Says He’ll Be Back To Star In ‘Terminator 5’ In January

We recently heard the Terminator rights may return to Paramount, and Dan gave five reasons they should just let it sink into the molten steel. When new writers were hired for the franchise last January, Arnold Schwarzenegger starting telling reporters during the press junket for The Last Stand that he would be involved in some way in Terminator 5.

Now the 65 year old former governor is saying he’s going to star as the Terminator, and the film starts shooting in January. We don’t have grains of salt large enough for this quote.

The quote was reported by Arnold Fans, via Coming Soon. You can listen to it by downloading this audio. It’s toward the end of the 8 minute clip. “I’m very happy that the studios want me to be in Terminator 5 and to star AS the Terminator, which we start shooting in January and I’m also going to do King Conan – to play that role and also to do another Twins movie. So I feel very proud of that. I feel very happy and I’m looking forward to doing those films.” [/film]

As far as we know, Paramount doesn’t have a director, so it’s a little soon to say the movie is starting production in fewer than eight months, and it’s far too early to say who will star in it. But, if Paramount is going to bring back actors from previous installments, we’d like to reiterate something we’ve suggested in the past. Perhaps they could bring back Edward Furlong as John Conn– oh. Well, the character was also played by Nick Stahl, and it’s not like they couldn’t find him– oh.
