‘Batman: Arkham Origins’ Posts Fifteen Minutes Of Gameplay

As we all know, a new Batman game is coming this October. What we didn’t know is what the franchise would look like without Rocksteady at the helm. The short answer? A lot like the last two games!

Here’s the full video, although we’ve taken the liberty of skipping to the part you care about if you’re not into bald dudes with accents.

A few things pop out about the video:

  • When he says that it’s “taller”, he’s not kidding; it looks like Bats takes a lot of high, high dives in this game.
  • The “Crime Reconstruction” gimmick is very similar to how Remember Me handles Memory Remixing, which tells us that fast-forwarding and rewinding through cutscenes is going to probably be an official Thing in games for a while.
  • Anarky, who seems to be filling in for Zsasz as “side-quest giver you ultimately beat up”, is a pretty interesting choice for a villain in this game. It harkens back a bit to the character’s late ’80s/early ’90s origins.
  • If you pay attention the game drops a few more hints as to what characters might be featured: For instance, it appears that SWAT Commander and general nutball Branden from Batman: Year One will be making an appearance.
  • It doesn’t look like much of the game is “recycled”; the art style appears to be the same but the environments are definitely new.
  • Oh, and Bane is officially one of the eight assassins.

All in all, it looks like we’re getting more of the same. Considering how great the last game was, we’re not complaining.
