Black Manta’s origin was one of the better Villains Month issues, and honestly, it looks like Aquaman might get out of Villains Month with some of the best issues, at this rate.
For those who haven’t been reading Justice League, Ocean Master, in the New 52, is actually a fairly tragic figure. Aquaman’s half brother and former ruler of Atlantis, Orm was tricked into attacking the surface world, flooding several cities and killing thousands, by somebody firing a missile strike at Atlantis. It raised the question of whether Orm, while undeniably a jerk, was really that far in the wrong.
