Samuel L. Jackson Reveals Who’s Playing Scarlet Witch In ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’

We were so excited when we learned Joss Whedon added Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch to his script for Avengers: Age Of Ultron that we celebrated with not just one but two cosplay galleries. Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) is presumably still negotiating to play Quicksilver, but we haven’t heard anything definitive about Scarlet Witch’s casting. Until now. Samuel L. Jackson may have revealed too much in an interview with the Wall Street Journal because Samuel L. Jackson reveals whatever he wants, motherf–ker.

“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year,” Jackson said of “The Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the next film to begin shooting in the Marvel universe. ”I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.” [WSJ]

Elizabeth Olsen — younger sister of the Olsen twins — earned critical acclaim for her daring turn in Martha Marcy May Marlene. (“Daring turn” is a nice way of saying an actor got naked.) She also expressed a desire to join The Avengers in an interview last month.

“To be part of [The Avengers]? Sure. I grew up loving comic books and sci-fi… I think those movies are great. I would love to do something like that.” [MTV via Screenrant]

Awesome. It seems they’ve cast someone who can act, and we already know she’ll be comfortable with the outfit.
