Tom Hanks Wants To Play A Batman Villain. Or The Flash. Hmmmm.

Yup, that’s right, America’s most likeable actor — the Jimmy Stewart of our time — wants to be a member of Batman’s psychotic rogue’s gallery. Here’s what Tom Hanks had to say recently when a fan asked him why he’s never been in a major superhero movie…

“They don’t ask me, man. I keep trying. Come on, I can do it. I can do it. Even let me play a bad guy, let me play the bad guy against Batman. I’ll do anything, call me.”

Well actually Hanks won’t do anything. Don’t cast him in some Perry White or Agent Coulson role. That s–t’s for lame-os…

“I don’t want to play the guy in the suit who tells the superheroes what’s going on, I don’t want to be that guy. ‘Well, you know Batman, Captain America, Iron Man, here’s what we’ve discovered,’ I don’t want to be that guy. I want to get in there, I want to play The Flash or something like that.”

The Flash huh? Uhhh, Tom, I’m not sure how to put this nicely — looks like you’ve been hitting the boxes of choc-co-lates a little heavy lately to play the Flash. Maybe stick to the Batman villain aspirations. You’d make a pretty good Calendar Man. Or [tries to think of more portly and/or middle-aged Batman villains] maybe Doctor Hurt? Uh, King Tut?
