Rocket Jump’s Mobile Squad Nails The Annoyance Of Touch Controls

One of my pet peeves about mobile games is the fact that too often they try to cram gamepad or keyboard/mouse controls into a form factor and control scheme that it doesn’t work for. Leave it to gaming comedy troupe Rocket Jump to bring that to its natural conclusion with the short Mobile Squad.

Rocket Jump has tackled the various quirks of games for years: You might remember their send-up of Link’s tendency towards property damage, for example. But this is particular is pretty cutting, because the crew is dead right; every bad Counter-Strike knockoff for phones plays more or less exactly like this:

As mobile games grow up and realize that touchscreens need new and different games, this will hopefully become less relevant: Rocket Jump actually made this on the request of MOGA to make a point about controls.

But, hey, until devs get the point, that’s what YouTube is for. That and finding that last #$%&ing data pack in Batman: Arkham Origins.
