Whoa. Keanu Reeves Wanted To Play Batman And Wolverine.

Keanu Reeves has recently expressed an open-mindedness about Doctor Strange, but that’s not the only superhero role he’d consider. While being interviewed by Moviefone about John Wick, he answered a question about whether he’s interested in doing a comic book movie. We’ve put the important bits in bold.

“I love the graphic novel form. I like how it’s been translated. I certainly think it’s impactful, with the images translating to cinema. I mean just look at The Matrix. That was influenced by graphic novels and anime. I like that world. I like action. I like science fiction. I like heightened realism.”

They haven’t gone to you to play a specific superhero, have they?

“No. I think I missed that one. I always wanted to play Wolverine. But I didn’t get that. And they have a great Wolverine now. I always wanted to play The Dark Knight. But I didn’t get that one. They’ve had some great Batmans. So now I’m just enjoying them as an audience.”

You could direct one.

“Yeah, I could do that.”

We look forward to the amazing, unprecedented crossover film made as a joint effort between Warner and Fox, Batman V Wolverine, starring Keanu Reeves in both roles. Directed by Keanu Reeves.
