Agent Carter debuts next week with two episodes back-to-back, but ABC has been a little tight-lipped about what to expect from the Marvel series. This behind-the-scenes clip makes it explicit: Beatings. So, so many beatings.
Seriously, we counted, she either beats the crap out of or shoots something/someone in five discreet scenes in a 48-second clip. Apparently this show will have the formula of somebody being sexist to Hayley Atwell and then on the floor weeping and trying to find their teeth five seconds later. We’re down, especially if they sprinkle in a few explosions.
Another nice touch: they appear to be emphasizing that she’s a secret agent inside her role as a secret agent. It’s got a nice pulp feel to it, which is really what we want out of this show. Also beatings. Did we mention the beatings?
