Netflix Set To Lose ‘Doctor Who,’ ‘Luther,’ And Many Other BBC Shows This Month

After January 31st, the majority of BBC content on Netflix will no longer be available for streaming. The good news is they may be able to renegotiate their contract with the BBC before the end of the month and avert disaster, and they’ll still be streaming the shows for which they’ve secured exclusive distribution rights. So at least Peaky Blinders is still safe.

The bad news is several other shows are set to expire (and likely only be legally available in the US on Amazon Prime) unless Netflix strikes a new agreement with our neighbors to the north. (I am bad at geography.)

The shows about to leave Netflix streaming include Luther (one of the bests), Top Gear, Black Adder, Red Dwarf, Fawlty Towers, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Coupling, Torchwood, Primeval, Survivors, and, yes, even Doctor Who
