Nathan Fillion And Alan Tudyk’s ‘Con Man’ Set A Crowdsourcing Record. Here’s A Teaser.

As we reported a few days ago, Firefly stars Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk are teaming up for a new Indiegogo-funded web series called Con Man. In the proposed show, Fillion and Tudyk play the stars of a canceled before its time, cult-classic sci-fi series, who are now doomed to travel the convention circuit. Gee, wonder where they came up with that premise?

Well, Con Man quickly blew past it’s $450,000 funding goal. In fact, it now sits at more than $2 million with 25 days still to go in the campaign. That makes Con Man the highest-funded crowdsourced web series ever. Fillion and Tudyk are now promising 13 episodes, one of which will be a complete episode of “Spectrum,” the Firefly-like show Fillion and Tudyk starred in, in the Con Man universe. Guest stars on the show will include Sean Maher, Gina Torres, James Gunn, Seth Green, Felicia Day, and Amy Acker.

Here’s a just-posted teaser for the show, featuring some guest voices you might recognize…

Honestly, the way this Indiegogo campaign is going, they may as well just make a new season of Firefly with their mountains of fan cash.
