‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Has Found Its Jubilee In First-Time Actress Lana Condor

At this point, most major X-Men characters have been given at least a brief chance to shine on the silver screen, but there are exceptions. One of those would be Jubilee, who’s totally a core member of the X-Men. She was on the ’90s Saturday morning cartoon show, dammit! Jubilee has shown up in brief background cameos in past X-Men movies, but she’s never been given a starring role. Well, that changes in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Bryan Singer announced today that total newcomer, Lana Condor (X-Men: Apocalypse is her only IMDB credit) will be playing Jubilee. Because nobody has seen her in anything yet, there’s no judging if she’s the right choice, but she’s certainly pretty and looks the part. Other recent additions to the X-Men: Apocalypse cast are Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey) and Alexandra Shipp (Storm).

What do you think of a newcomer being cast as Jubilee? Considering the character’s somewhat naive nature, it could be a good fit. I just hope they get Lana the proper knee-length jorts and yellow trench coat for the role.
