Now that we’re entering Marvel’s Phase 3 when Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters, the subject of contracts has been coming up frequently because a lot of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes might be moving on soon. But what about the master and commander of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Feige? He was recently asked about when his contract was up, and he actually had an answer: 2018, a year before Phase 3 officially wraps up with Inhumans in July 2019.

But as many are guessing, this doesn’t mean that Feige won’t be renewing his contract once it’s up. It’s not made clear when in 2018 his contract expires, but considering how deeply and intimately involved Feige is in every aspect of the MCU, I’m willing to bet dollars to doughnuts that Feige sticks around to make enough money to run a small country. Or at least a fictional, fantastical universe.
