Another year means yet another entry in the Assassin’s Creed series, and word is this year’s entry will feature a setting that fans have been clamoring for for some time. According to Polygon, the next game in the series will be called Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, and it will take place in 19th century Victorian England.
“[Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate] will transport millions of gamers to an astonishing recreation of London during the Industrial Revolution where they will find themselves immersed in a game world they’ll have to see to believe.”
We also know that the game will feature a new protagonist named Jacob Frye. Recently, the British Assassin’s Creed hub released this very simple animated teaser. Not a huge amount to be gleaned from this, but you can check it out below.
Rumors of a British Assassin’s Creed have been swirling for months. According to reports, the game will feature a new grappling hook that will allow you swing between structures. Steam-based tech and trains will also be a big focus of the title. The game will be developed by Ubisoft Quebec, which has previously only served a support role on past Assassin’s Creed games.
Ubisoft says there will be officially unveiling Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate tomorrow at 12 p.m. EST.
